The notion that just having “great content” in a blog will magically attract readers or that a “great product” will sell itself is…well…crap.
NOTHING sells itself. There is a reason why companies spend a huge percentage of their operating budgets on sales and marketing. Nobody will know about your great blog or your great product unless you tell them about it. And nobody will buy your product unless you do all of the other necessary things: make them feel good about buying it, make it easy to purchase, provide great service, etc.
If you want customers or readers, you have to do something about it. Check out this great list of 169 ways to (both online and offline) to promote your blog or your product.
If you don’t have a blog that you use to promote your business, why not? Want some help? Contact me. I’d be glad to help you get started. Heck, I’ll even write your first post for you. Note: I don’t charge money for this. Yes, that’s right, I’d do this for FREE (for a limited number of people…I have a day job too.) With that kind of an offer, what are you waiting for? With or without me. Get started. Get out there and promote your business.

Thank you for your wonderful link to our blog. It’s true.. as important as content is to your site or business it will not promote itself. That is a great opportunity as well for your readers to get a great blog setup.
