		<description>Del, this is a very compassionate and thoughtful entry. You claim not to have achieved wisdom or nirvana, but I think some of is peeking out in posts like this one. The one thing I would add to your words to people being laid off is that it&#039;s really important for people to learn that ultimately the company you work for is The Universe, Inc.

During a recent *long* depression, I read a biography of Buckminster Fuller that described how he contemplated suicide one night, then decided to live the rest of his life as if he had died, making a gift of his life to the universe. He recognized that when he framed his life that way, &quot;they&quot; and their opinions of his work could never touch him. He wasn&#039;t doing it for &quot;them&quot; anymore.

Keep up the great work. Not bad for a hilarious geek. :)</description>
