Monchhichis and 8.5 inch floppy disks

So over the weekend, I saw this Monchhichi…

And then today I found this 8.5″ floppy disk that contains some database.

Is it possible I’ve somehow travelled back in time to the 80s?

The business card for renowned hacker, security consultant and author: Kevin Mitnick.

…love it.

There’s just this one little bit of sky visible from inside the bowling alley where I’m waiting for my daughter while she bowls with friends at a birthday party.

Inside it’s dark and loud. There’s the low rumble of the kids’ slow throws meandering down the lanes. An old American Idol is somehow playing on the TV where Simon called Taylor Hicks’ singing thoughtless, boring and tired. Ryan Seacrest imagined Simon’s love life to be the same way.

I don’t really watch American Idol and I don’t know who all these people are. But I’m a bit tired from working all morning, so it feels pretty good to just sit here, relax, listen to the kids chatter, think about life, and look at that thin strip of blue sky up there.

If you’re moving into a 6th floor apartment in Paris, get one of these things. The movers load up the platform with boxes and furniture and it climbs up the ladder. Then they bring everything in through the window. Pretty nifty.

…even the office looks nice.
